Museu Arqueologico in Faro is one of the mostfascinating museums
in the Algarve. The museum is housed in the former convent of Nossa
Senhora da Assuncao, a house of St Clare founded in 1518. The exhibits
of this Faro museum include the 16th-century Italian paintings,
fragments of a Moorish bowl inscribed with 'Allah', and other highlights.
Apart from the exhibits, the two story cloister is particularly
worthy of attention.
