The harbor commander's office in the north of the harbor in Faro
houses Museu Marítimo, the exhibits of which provide a background
to seafaring and fishing in the Algarve, Portugal. Here one can
see the scale models of caravels, galleons and steamboats as well
as Carlos Porfirio’s dramatic oil painting.
